KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WATE) — A Senate committee hearing has now been set for four nominees to the Tennessee Valley Authority Board of Directors.
The Senate Committee on Environment and Public Works will hold a hearing for four of President Donald Trump's five nominees on October 22.
Six of the nine seats on the board of directors are currently vacant. TVA bylaws require the board to have at least five members to meet its quorum in order to conduct new business. Trump fired three directors earlier this year.
Committee members will consider the nominations of Lee Beaman, Mitch Graves, Jeff Hagood, and Randall Jones. A hearing has not yet been set for Arthur Graham, who was nominated in August.
