Cleanup is underway after a train derailed overnight near Knob Noster, Missouri.
A spokesperson for Union Pacific told KMBC 9 that around 1:15 a.m., a train derailed near Highway 50 and Northeast 175th Road. Advertisement
Approximately 32 cars went off the tracks, along with one locomotive, which derailed in an upright position.
No one was injured.
Union Pacific emphasized that all of the rail cars were empty; no hazardous materials were spilled.
The derailment caused Amtrak to cancel Lincoln Service Missouri River Runner Trains 318 and 319 between Kansas City and St. Louis on Friday.
An investigation into the incident is underway.
