BALTIMORE —

It's less than a week until the Baltimore Running Festival, and Team Francis Scott Key is raising money to help their school and students.

Funding for schools across Baltimore City doesn't come close to what's needed, so one parent-teacher organization turned to the Baltimore Running Festival to raise funds for special projects.

The festival is celebrating 25 years, and for several of those years, some of the money raised has been used to support Francis Scott Key Elementary/Middle School in Locust Point.

The support goes towards field trips, equipment and experiences that won't cost parents a dime. Tenerra McFadden is the principal at Francis Scott Key.
