PORTLAND Ore. (KPTV) - Three Oregon-based advocacy organizations filed a federal lawsuit this week accusing ICE, the Department of Homeland Security and Customs and Border Protection of denying detained immigrants meaningful access to attorneys before transferring them out of state.

Portland-based Innovation Law Lab filed the suit on behalf of the CLEAR Clinic and Pineros y Campesinos Unidos del Noroeste, or PCUN. The groups say ICE has stepped up enforcement activity across Oregon, including in Eugene, Woodburn and Hillsboro, and that the agencies’ practices violate detainees’ due process rights.
