PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — Several Oregon advocacy groups have accused federal authorities of unlawfully denying detainees access to legal representation.

The lawsuit that Innovation Law Lab filed on behalf of Clear Clinic and Pineros y Campesinos Unidos del Noroeste on Thursday has alleged that the Immigration and Customs Enforcement, Department of Homeland Security and Customs and Border Protection are violating the U.S. Constitution by neglecting to allow detained people to exercise their right to counsel before being transferred to another location.
