A teen boy was found shot and killed in Herndon, Virginia, on Wednesday night, authorities say.

The teen’s body was found after a community member reported seeing someone unconscious in the 13000 block of Parcher Avenue. The block includes Hutchison Park and is just north of Dulles Toll Road.

Officers responded at about 9:30 p.m. after someone said they saw an unconscious man who could be asleep or injured. They discovered the person was a teen boy with a gunshot wound to the lower body.

He was declared dead on the scene. Police did not release his name.
