OWENSBORO, Ky. (WEVV) — Owensboro Police say they've arrested a 19-year-old suspect after he made threats about committing a shooting at a local college.

On October 14, police say they responded to an area of East 23rd Street, where they found Josiah James had harmed himself.

While James was being taken to the hospital, OPD says he made statements about wanting to commit a shooting at Kentucky Wesleyan College.

Authorities served a search warrant at James' home, and say they found multiple firearms and several hundred rounds of ammunition in a backpack.

Detectives say they also seized electronic devices, which revealed hundreds of internet searches on school shootings.
