WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. — A man is in police custody after officers say he rammed his car into a gate on 700 Coliseum Drive, the location of WXII 12.

According to a release from the Winston-Salem Police Department, the suspect drove through the front gate and hit another car in the parking lot.

Police say after the suspect stopped the car, he entered the building and began to destroy property.

Officers arrived on the scene and arrested the man, determining he was suffering from a mental health crisis. They then took him to a hospital for evaluation.

No injuries were reported.

Officers say they do not believe this was a targeted act against WXII 12. The suspect's name has not yet been released.
