FARGO — For the first time in more than five years, the Fargo Mini Marathon is back in the city.
The first race is a Halloween-themed Trick or Trot 5K, which is scheduled for 6 p.m. Friday, Oct. 17. A half-marathon and 10K will take place starting at 8 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 18, with all races starting and ending at the Fargo Civic Center.
A portion of the proceeds from vendors and the event will benefit the Mark Knutson Shoes for Kids Legacy Fund, which provides shoes for children in the Fargo-Moorhead and West Fargo area.
"It's bigger and better than we were expecting, which is great. We are getting a huge support from the community, which is awesome. And so we are just very excited to have it back and keep it going for years to come, hopefully," event organizer Lindsey Botnen said.
