Two people were arrested after trouble flared outside an anti-racism benefit gig in Altrincham .
Witnesses say Stand Up to Racism campaigners clashed with around 15 alleged far right activists when a banner outside the venue was torn down. The altercation came towards the end of a Love Music Hate Racism concert at the Green Room in Altrincham, organised in response to recent anti-immigration protests outside the town's Cresta Court hotel.
As a scuffle broke out one SUTR activist said he was 'grabbed and hit five or six times in the face'. The activist, who asked not to be named, said he recognised a number of those involved from recent far right anti-immigration protests.
