WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) — An Emporia man was arrested after fire officials said he intentionally set a vehicle on fire.

It happened early Saturday on Neosho Street near Peter Pan Park on the south side of Emporia.

Emporia firefighters responded to a report of a vehicle on fire just before 5:30 a.m. The fire was quickly put out and it was later concluded that it had been intentionally set, officials said in a news release.

An Emporia man was arrested on suspicion of arson.

The case has been referred to the Lyon County Attorney’s Office for formal charges.

KSN does not name individuals believed to be connected to a crime unless formal charges have been filed.
