Every corner of Australia is set to experience wild weather this coming week, with those residing in the south-east set to be peltered by intense storms while those in the north will swelter as temperatures rise well above seasonal norms.

From Monday, Sky News Australia Meteorologist Marina Neuman said the south-east is in store for “continuous wet weather” while “heat is moving in for the north”.

Brisbane is set for a sweltering start to the working week, with the temperature forecast to hit 29C.

A heat wave, which be particularly strong across the interior, will linger throughout the week, with Ipswich locals warned over the potential to for the mercury to hit 40C on Thursday, while Brisbane could climb to 37C.
