It appears reinforcements are on the way for the 49ers.

With George Kittle set to return for San Francisco's Week 7 game against the Atlanta Falcons on "Sunday Night Football," two additional key starters are inching closer to getting back to the field.

The 49ers expect quarterback Brock Purdy and wide receiver Ricky Pearsall to return in Week 8 against the Texans in Houston, The Athletic's Dianna Russini reported in a column published Saturday.

Purdy will miss his fifth game of the 2025 NFL season Sunday due to a turf toe injury.

Mac Jones has filled in as the starter under center in the meantime, with a 4-1 record as QB1. He'll get the start again against the Falcons.
