PORTSMOUTH, Va. (WAVY) -- The Twisted Crab in Portsmouth will be closed indefinitely following a fire Sunday morning, according to officials.
Portsmouth Emergency Communications was notified of a smell of smoke at approximately 11:15 a.m. inside the seafood restaurant, located in the 4000 block of Victory Boulevard.
When crews arrived, they observed heavy smoke coming from the structure. Upon entering, they found heavy fire in the ceiling.
Crews conducted an aggressive interior attack with water being placed on the fire at 11:24 a.m. The fire was marked under control at 12:22 p.m.
All employees were accounted for and had evacuated the building. There were no injuries reported to employees or firefighters.
The cause of the fire is not yet known.
