SEARCY COUNTY, Ark. — A 13-year-old boy died on Oct. 18 after falling from a bluff at Buffalo National River in Searcy County, according to the National Park Service (NPS).
Park officials said the boy was with a friend when he lost his footing near Brewer Bluff. The Searcy County Sheriff's Office was reportedly notified of the boy's fall around 11 a.m. on Saturday.
Several agencies responded to the area to locate the boy. NPS said members of the Harrison Fire Department repelled from the bluff, while park rangers arrived to the area from the river. The boy was found unresponsive.
