COLUMBUS, Ohio — As National Teen Driver Safety Week approaches, the Ohio State Highway Patrol is urging parents and guardians to take an active role in teaching their teens safe driving habits and to lead by example. The campaign runs Oct. 19-25.

According to the patrol, families play a vital role in shaping their teens’ driving behavior by spending time behind the wheel together, setting expectations and reinforcing lessons learned from driver’s education and law enforcement programs.

“Just like mastering a sport or a musical instrument, safe driving takes practice,” Gov.
