At least one person was killed Sunday when a motorcycle and SUV collided on Santiago Canyon Road in the Irvine area.

The crash was reported at 8:23 p.m. Sunday on Santiago Canyon Road near Red Rock Canyon Road in the vicinity of Irvine Lake.

A witness told the California Highway Patrol a motorcycle collided with a red SUV, which went down the right shoulder embankment and struck a tree. Debris was reported across all lanes of traffic.

The Orange County coroner’s office was summoned to the scene at 9:50 p.m.
