An Amazon Web Services outage overnight Monday took down several websites and services, the cloud computing service confirmed.

The issue was first reported around 3:11 a.m. Eastern Time, when the service said it was “investigating increased error rates and latencies for multiple AWS services in the US-EAST-1 Region.” In all, 79 services out of the service’s center in Northern Virginia were impacted.

Several governments, universities and companies rely on AWS for remote computing services, according to The Associated Press .

“We can confirm increased error rates and latencies for multiple AWS Services,” the service’s health dashboard read just before 4 a.m. Eastern Time.
