LINCOLN, R.I. (WLNE) — The vacant Sayles Company Dye House will find new use as an affordable housing complex with Rhode Island officials on hand today for a groundbreaking ceremony.

Governor Dan McKee and Senator Jack Reed will attend the event at the Lincoln site that will host Walker Lofts, a 124-unit complex that will serve Rhode Island residents earning an income at or below 80 percent of the area median income.

The average Lincoln median income was $94,000 from 2017 through 2021.

The Walker Street groundbreaking will take place at 10 a.m. Monday.
