MINOT, ND (KXNET) — Amazon Web Services one of the largest cloud services in the world suffered an outage that began in the early hours of October 20. Among the companies impacted is Amtrak.

Amtrak is currently unable to update passenger departure details or process payments. Amtrak is encouraging passengers to arrive 30 minutes before there scheduled departure. Outages are impacting all stations nationwide including five North Dakota.

Amtrak's website has a notice posted that reads, "We are actively working with our business partner to resolve these problems. If you are traveling today, please arrive at your station at your regularly scheduled time, typically 30 minutes before your train’s departure. We appreciate your patience and apologize for any inconvenience."
