Marshall County authorities say an 8-year-old thrown from an ATV on Sunday has died from his injuries.

The wreck happened on Rescue Road in Union Grove. The single vehicle wreck happened on private property.

According to the Marshall County Coroner, the child was taken by ambulance to Huntsville Hospital and later airlifted to Children's Hospital in Birmingham.

The coroner's office says the child died from his injuries on Monday. The name of the child has not been released at this time.

Both the Marshall County Coroner's Office and the Marshall County Sheriff's Office are investigating the wreck.
