ATLANTA — Atlanta Gas Light customers may be eligible for assistance this winter.

On Oct. 21, the Georgia Public Service Commission approved the release of $5 million from the state Universal Service Fund (USF) during an administrative hearing.

About $2 million of the approved funds will be dispersed to roughly 12,824 customers enrolled in the Atlanta Gas Light Senior Citizen Discount Program, with each receiving a one-time credit of $194, in addition to the existing senior discount of $14 off the base charge.
