QUEBEC — With two of the opposition parties now saying they will reluctantly participate in general public hearings into the new proposed Quebec constitution , Justice Minister Simon Jolin-Barrette tried again Tuesday to woo the holdouts in Québec solidaire.
“I am extending a hand to my colleagues in Québec solidaire,” Jolin-Barrette told reporters on his way into question period. “I think the constitution is an important document. We are MNAs and should work together for the population of Quebec.
“I don’t accept that a political party tells us they will block at all costs. Let’s talk, let’s debate. It’s the time to listen to the population and work together.”
