Glendale staff chose a preferred site for its next fire station and presented early conceptual design of it to the City Council at its Oct. 14 workshop.

Design and review funding for the new $15.5 million Fire Station 1510 was in fiscal year 2024. Funding is in the capital improvement projects budget for fiscal years 2027 and 2028.

The Glendale Fire Department considered six potential sites in the vicinity of its entertainment district before settling on the northwest corner of New River Drive and Glendale Avenue west of Loop 101. One key is how far west the four-mile “polygon” — or primary service area — for this site goes.
