Another oceanfront home collapses in Buxton

10 th home to collapse on Cape Hatteras National Seashore since Sept. 30

The Cape Hatteras National Seashore has reported that an unoccupied house at 46006 Cottage Ave. in Buxton collapsed at approximately 7:45 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 18.

That marks the tenth such collapse on the Cape Hatteras National Seashore since Sept. 30, when six houses fell in a single day as Humberto and Imelda battered the Outer Banks. Before tonight, the last home collapse was on Oct. 3.
