GLENWOOD — Opening the Section 8AAA playoffs on a high note, the Minnewaska Area football team had a boost from Miles Wildman on the ground.
Behind Wildman’s 186 rushing yards and three touchdowns, the second-seeded Lakers coasted past No. 7 Park Rapids 49-6 in the teams’ opening-round matchup at the Minnewaska Area High School. Overall, Minnewaska tallied 462 total yards of offense in the game with 411 rushing yards.
Wildman’s touchdowns all came in the opening half of play, which saw the Lakers put up 28 points in the second quarter. Riley Dell added 103 yards on 10 carries with a touchdown, while Kolton Rogers ran four times for 43 yards and a score. Kearri Dickens had eight rushes for 67 yards and a touchdown.
