DAPHNE, Ala. (WKRG) — Gulf Coast Paddle and Racket is hosting a pickleball and tennis tournament to raise money for Camp Rapahope, a local nonprofit for children battling cancer.

News 5 spoke with four boys a few weeks ago. Two of them are playing in the tournament and the other two benefit from it.

Brothers William and Jacob Veazey love playing pickleball, and one of their favorite things about playing is meeting new people.

“I like meeting new people and getting to connect,” said William. “I just kind of learn about their life and how they like to do things. It’s pretty cool.”

And on this particular afternoon, William and Jacob did get to learn about two other boys’ lives, but Shep Hall and John Will Kahlbeau’s lives are a little different than other kids’.
