VERMILION COUNTY, Ill. (WCIA) -- A Danville methamphetamine dealer was sentenced to 13 1/2 years in prison on Monday.

On Oct. 20, 57-year-old Richard Dietz of Danville pleaded guilty to unlawful possession of methamphetamine with intent to deliver, a class X felony. He was sentenced to 13.5 years in the Illinois Department of Corrections and will serve 18 months pf mandatory supervised release following his term of imprisonment.

This plea and sentencing were presided over by Judge Mark S. Godwin.

The People presented evidence that on Oct. 15, 2023, agents with the Vermilion County Metropolitan Enforcement Group engaged in a lawful search of a package that Dietz had received in the mail.
