Two people have been attended to after being hit by a car outside a primary school .

A young mother and her child have escaped serious injury after being hit by a car in Adelaide’s north on Thursday morning.

Emergency crews rushed to Montague Road at Para Vista just before 9am after reports a Mazda sedan had struck two pedestrians.

Paramedics treated the 24-year-old woman and her child at the scene for minor injuries.

The 26-year-old driver remained at the scene and spoke with police. He also underwent roadside testing.

Major Crash investigators are now piecing together what happened.
