AMARILLO, Texas (KFDA) - Amarillo Fire Department Deputy Chief David Kouba has earned the internationally recognized Chief Fire Officer designation from the Commission on Professional Credentialing.

According to a news release, the credential is held by only 2,030 fire service leaders worldwide. It recognizes excellence in leadership, education, experience and professional development.

Deputy Chief Kouba has served with the Amarillo Fire Department for more than 22 years, joining on March 6, 2003.
