In nothing short of a miracle, the student who was critically wounded almost two months ago in the Annunciation Church and School shooting was able to walk out of the hospital and return home to her family.

Sophia Forchas, 12, was released from Gillette Children’s in St. Paul on Thursday following a one-month stay at for rehab and physical therapy. But before she went home, she paid a visit Hennepin County Medical Center (HCMC) in Minneapolis to thank the medical team that cared for her immediately after the shooting.
