Officers with the Weyburn Police Service responded to a report of an assault after receiving a call from a man at a local business.
Deputy Chief Shane St. John explains the man had been assaulted while on the road with a co-worker and waited until he was in a safe location to contact police.
“Two males were traveling together for work. A disagreement occurred and the one male assaulted the other. As soon as they stopped at a gas station, the male that was assaulted felt safe, so he called police and we attended right away. The other male was still in the vehicle, was arrested without incident and charged accordingly.”
St. John says the victim’s behavior indicates he was afraid for his safety even after the incident occurred.
