CABARRUS COUNTY, N.C. — WCNC Charlotte has chosen to use this mugshot due to the nature of the charges.

A Cabarrus County Schools teacher and swim coach was arrested and charged with two counts of felony child abduction.

Camryn Mae Carte, 24, was arrested on charges of abducting a child, according to arrest warrants issued Thursday by the Concord Police Department.

The warrants allege Carte "unlawfully, willfully and feloniously did without legal justification or defense abduct or induce" a minor who was at least four years younger than her from a person lawfully entitled to the child's custody. The alleged incidents happened on or about Nov. 1, 2024.
