Oklahoma’s public colleges and universities reported increased enrollment for the fifth straight year, with more than 175,000 students enrolled for fall 2025, according to preliminary data from the Oklahoma State Regents for Higher Education .

The system saw a 3.6% increase in headcount enrollment compared to fall 2024, with growth across all institutional tiers. Research universities led with a 4.7% increase, followed by community colleges at 4.3% and regional universities at 1.2%.

“The continued growth in enrollment across Oklahoma’s public higher education institutions clearly demonstrates that Oklahomans recognize the value of a college degree,” said Courtney Warmington, State Regents’ chair. “Our colleges and universities offer high-quality, affordable academic pathways.”
