Based on how Addison Barger stepped up in Game 1 of the World Series , you’d have thought he slept on a brand new California King bed the night before.
Apparently, that wasn’t the case. Not even close.
Barger’s teammate, David Schneider, revealed that the World Series hero of Game 1 slept on his pull-out couch the night before rewriting the record books with the first-ever pinch-hit grand slam in a World Series.
“His family was coming in tonight, so he needed someone to stay with,” Schneider said postgame. “He needed someone; he was staying with Myles [Straw], and then stayed with me.”
“My girlfriend’s here and he was like, ‘Can I sleep in the bed with you guys?’ I was like, ‘No, sleep on the couch.'”
“It was squeaking all night.”
