Gunfire erupted at a Halloween party in Hawthorne on Friday, injuring one teenager and one adult.

The shooting was reported shortly after 10 p.m. near El Segundo Boulevard and Isis Avenue, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department. Upon arrival, deputies found two people suffering from gunshot wounds.

One of the victims was described as being 16 or 17 years of age, while the second victim is believed to be in their 20s. LASD said one of the victims was in critical condition and the other in stable condition; It did not specify who the critical victim was.

It’s unclear what led up to the violence.

A detailed description of the shooter was not provided. The case remains under investigation.
