BISMARCK, ND (KXNET) — With Halloween coming up, the North Dakota Highway Patrol (NDHP) has put together a list of safety tips for kids and parents who will be out walking around and for drivers.
For those heading out trick-or-treating, NDHP recommends: • Looking left and right before crossing the street and teaching children to do the same • Don't cross the street between parked cars • Encourage children to wear brightly colored costumes or wear reflective gear • carry glow bracelets and flashlights • Go in groups with adults
NDHP reminds drivers: • Watch for children on medians, curbs, and driveways • Enter and exit driveways and alleyways extra carefully • Watch for children in dark clothing • Discourage young and inexperienced drivers from driving on Halloween
