PORTLAND, Ore. — Thousands are being affected by power outages Saturday as an atmospheric river moves through the area , bringing heavy rain and wind gusts that are felling trees and power lines, blocking multiple roads.
Pacific Power said they have over 200 field crews working to restore power across Oregon.
As of Saturday evening, Portland General Electric (PGE)'s outage map reported that 9,711 customers were affected, mainly in Clackamas and Marion counties, while Pacific Power reported 6,357 customers were affected, mainly south of Salem and near Interstate 5 in the Willamette Valley.
Earlier in the day, PGE reported that 26,815 customers were affected, with Pacific Power reporting 11,494.
