OSHKOSH, Wis. (WBAY) - The Winnebago County Sheriff’s Office recovered a body found floating at a boat launch in Oshkosh on Saturday.

Just after 11:30 a.m., Winnebago County deputies responded to the Mill Street Boat Launch for a report of some items and what was thought to be clothing floating in Lake Winnebago about 50 feet from the shore and southeast of the mouth of the Fox River.

Deputies on scene launched a boat onto Lake Winnebago to inspect the items.

The deputies say they were able to confirm that the reported items and clothing were actually the body of a man. He was pronounced dead at the scene with assistance from the Winnebago County Medical Examiner’s Office.
