LOUISVILLE, Ky. —
Louisville’s largest Halloween celebration took over NuLu to kick off Halloween week, drawing an estimated 10,000-15,000 people throughout the day as the Hal-LOU-ween festival moved from its longtime home in the Highlands to the East Market District.
“I guess, like sometimes I've taken it for granted. But as I've gotten older, and you know, we love to travel, but coming back and seeing we do have activities, we have stuff to do like this that we don't have to leave for. So it's really great,” said Istra, who walked in the parade as a vampire this year.
The festival delivered a full slate of family-friendly fun: a parade featuring floats, elaborate costumes, and lively dance numbers; and neighborhood trick-or-treating at all 70 participating vendors.
