GAITHERSBURG, Md. — Police are still investigating a shooting that put a man in the hospital Saturday evening in Gaithersburg. The shooting happened across from the Rio Gaithersburg shopping center in the 9800 block of Washingtonian Boulevard, but investigators say there is no threat to the community.

Montgomery County Police and Gaithersburg Police officers were called to the area around 7:10 p.m. Saturday for a report of a shooting. When officers arrived, they found one person shot inside a vehicle. The person, who has not been identified, was taken to the hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.

Gaithersburg Police are handling the investigation. Detectives have not said what led up to the shooting. So far, no arrests have been made.
