MARTINSVILLE, Va. (WDBJ) - The roar of engines may have faded but the energy at Martinsville Speedway remained high as fans of all ages filled the stands for the NASCAR Cup Series finale.

Since opening in 1947, Martinsville has held a special place in NASCAR history. It is the oldest track still active on the NASCAR circuit and the only track to host a NASCAR Cup Series race every year since the division’s inception in 1949.
