CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. (KFVS) - The Missouri State High School Activities Association unveiled district playoff matchups Saturday for Missouri high school football.

Playoff football starts on Friday, October 31, for most teams, with several games in the opening rounds across six different classes.

Six of those districts have teams in the Heartland.

Here’s a breakdown district-by-district for Heartland schools:

Class 1 District 1

Charleston holds the top seed in a wide-open district. The top four teams: the Blue Jays, Saxony Lutheran, Hayti, and Portageville, all finished within one game of each other in the standings.

The only teams playing this Friday are 0-9 Malden and 5-4 Portageville. The winner will face Charleston in a semifinal next week; Portageville did beat Charleston earlier
