COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KKTV) - Forty-nine dogs are getting healing care in Peyton after being rescued from extreme neglect and suffering in Missouri.
Saturday, National Mill Dog Rescue got to work to groom and medically examine each dog to put a stop to the suffering as quickly as possible.
“Our goal is to get them comfortable as fast as possible, evaluated medically, once all this hair is off you find stuff,” founder Theresa Strader said.
Strader told 11 News no matter how many rescues her team does, it’s still hard to see these animals in the condition that they’re brought in.
“When it’s a mass of them that looks like this, it’s very, very difficult for all of us, including me,” Strader said. “In this particular case, it’s extra difficult simply because this has gone on for a long,
