OROVILLE, Calif. - A man was arrested by the California Highway Patrol on Friday afternoon after leading officers on a dangerous high-speed pursuit on Highway 149 and Highway 70.
The California Highway Patrol says that at around 5:20 p.m. on Friday, a CHP officer from the Oroville CHP Office attempted to initiate a traffic stop on a black Subaru sedan that was traveling northbound on Highway 149 for speeding.
Authorities say that instead of pulling over, the driver took off from the officer, darting across the center median of Highway 149 and turned to head southbound.
The CHP says that the vehicle entered northbound Highway 70 at Wicks Corner before making another U-turn in the median of the highway to travel southbound. Authorities say the vehicle reached speeds in excess of 120 mile
