AKRON, Ohio — A 20-year-old Barberton woman was killed early Monday morning in a shooting in the South Akron neighborhood, police say.
The Summit County Medical Examiner’s Office says the victim, Ti’chara Williams, was pronounced dead at the scene on the 400 block of Stanton Avenue. She died of a gunshot wound to the torso.
A news release from Akron police says the shooting was reported at about 5:35 a.m. Police did not release details on a possible motive. No arrests were reported and it’s also unknown if there are any suspects.
