A man has been charged in connection with an attempted theft and the assault of a police officer in Ilkeston .
Police were called to Ilkeston Market Place on October 14 to reports that a man had attempted to steal from a machine in the Sir John Warren Pub.
Officers attended the scene and arrested a man shortly after it was reported.
Jack Price-Henson, 34, of Quarry Avenue, Nottingham, has been charged with attempted theft, going equipped for theft and two counts of assaulting a police officer.
The man was released on bail and is due to appear at Southern Derbyshire Magistrates' Court on November 17.
This comes after Ilkeston Market Place was deemed a hotspot for anti-social behaviour. It has been the subject of a number of dispersal orders by Derbyshire police.
