A Fatal Accident Inquiry (FAI) is set to begin into the death of a West Lothian prisoner who died behind bars.
Ronald Harrison, 59, was on remand at HMP Addiewell when he was found dead by officers on April 10, 2022.
He was jailed in 2015 for his role in a prison drugs ring, but was awaiting trial for an attempted murder charge.
A preliminary hearing will take place on December 5, before the inquiry is held at Edinburgh Sheriff Court from April 27, 2026.
It will explore the circumstances of Harrison’s death, with particular focus on the prison’s locking and unlocking policy (or lack thereof) and its implementation by prison officers on April 9, 2022.
