The Weyburn Police Service responded to a report of a 16-year-old boy causing a disturbance on Thursday, where investigation determined that he had threatened to harm two women. Deputy Chief Shane St. John explains that due to his behaviour and concern for public safety, he was charged for uttering threats and released to a parent under conditions.
“We took this very seriously. We had no other option but to charge in this circumstance.”
St. John believes the matter may have been related to mental health struggles, and hopes the incident can help the young man get the help he needs.
