LOUISIANA (KTAL/KMSS) — Louisiana has been recognized as the top state for tourism in the United States.

The Bayou State was recognized as a leading winner at the 2025 JRNY America Awards in London. The JRNY Awards celebrate the best in American tourism by honoring destinations, experiences, and organizations that make traveling throughout the U.S. unforgettable.

Louisiana received three of the eleven awards, earning more than any other U.S. destination. It was recognized with the State of the Year award, while the city of New Orleans received two additional awards — Best Food City and Best New Tourism Initiative for its Amtrak Mardi Gras Service.
